When I was about 10 years old my grandmother Mable Horseman (1903-1987) told me about a dream she had as a young girl.   She said this happened before she started school.  I guess that she was around 5 or 6.  She was born in 1903 so the dream happened about 100 years ago.  "She dreamed that she was walking through "the Mission Canyon" on our reservation.  At a curve in the road when the canyon walls were at their sheerest she came to a man-made wall.  The wall reached to the top of the canyon.  She could see people on the wall.  They all wore wide pointed hats and called to each other in a language she could not understand."  She found out about the Great Wall of China when she was older and believes it was that wall in her dream.  From that time on I wanted to visit the Great Wall.  Our Chinese guide said grandma had her vision because Native Americans and Chinese people have the same ancestors.  Of course the Wall came thousands of years after my ancestors populated North America...but who knows.  An interesting thing I was told is that the guards lived their entire life on the wall.  They married, raised a family and their sons spent their life guarding the wall, and so on.  Also, many people (slave labor) died and were buried inside of the walls of "the wall" as it was built.

We visited a silk factory and one of the items made there was silk comforters.  The silk comforter is light weight and very warm in winter but cool in summer.  Since Linda helped with the assembly we had to buy one.  Our best buy in China.
